The Classic Inca Trail starts at Km 82 in Ollantaytambo and finishes in Machu Picchu Citadelon day 4th. To be able to hike this trek, you must book far in advance-permits (some dates might sell out as far as 6 months in advance).

Ultimate Salkantay Trek

The second most popular hike to Machu Picchu, the Salkantay Trail, does not require permits; however, we recommend always booking in advance as we need to book Machu Picchu entries and train tickets.
