Embark on a journey of a lifetime and find yourself immersed in one of the most magical places in the world. This entire tour will be lead by one of our experienced tour guides, native to the Cusco Region. Your Three days adventure will begin with a tour of Cusco City where you will get to see all of the cities’ highlights.

Your second day will be spent learning about the Sacred Valley which holds the ancient ruins of Pisaq and Ollantaytambo. We will finish the day by taking the train to Aguas Calientes town where you will stay overnight and get some rest to prepare you for our final day exploring Machu Picchu.

Itinerary

Day 1: WELCOME TO CUSCO / CUSCO CITY TOUR– INCA RUINS

Upon your arrival at Cusco airport, you will be greeted by our representative, holding a small board written your name on it and then, you will be transferred to your hotel. At your hotel you will receive a briefing about the trip to Cusco, then you will be free time for you to relax and to start to acclimatize to the altitude.

In the afternoon; at 1 pm, we will meet you at your hotel lobby to begin your Cusco city tour. From here, you will head to Cusco main square, where we will introduce you to the Imperial City of Cusco, a living example of the mix of Andean and Spanish culture. Following, you will continue on foot through an ancient Inca-built street from the Plaza de Armas to the Q’oricancha, the Temple of the Sun.

In Coricancha you will be able to compare and contrast the building methods of the Incan culture and Catholicism. After receiving a comprehensive guided tour, we continue our tour by van for 25 minutes outside of the city. To visit the majestic Inca site, known as, Sacsawaman, set on a hilltop overlooking Cusco and its enigmatic, 200-ton monoliths.

From Sacsayhuaman, you’ll take 10 minutes to drive to Qenqo (Inca Amphitheater), we then drive 10 more minutes to Tambomachay (Temple of the Water), then visit Puca Pucara (Inca Checkpoint). We’ll then drive back down to Cusco where the tour ends at your Hotel.

DAY 2: CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY – AGUAS CALIENTES

We are coming to pick you at your hotel with our private transportation at 7:30 a.m. And then we go in direction to our journey.

The first place to visit is the view point of the Sacred Valley “lookout point”, where you’ll have the impressive views of the valley, Mountains, snow-cap Mountain and much more, and also your tour guide will give you background information. Following our tour we´ll drive to Pisaq the first Inca archaeological site. Here you can see magnificent views of the Inca remains, terraces, over 300 Inca tombs, army sector, and temples, etc. We’ll have around 1 ½ hours of exploring the site where your guide will explain all the information. Then before we return to the valley we’ll visit the most colorful and traditional local market Pisaq where you can purchase traditional textiles.

The journey continues as we’ll drive along the beautiful valley with great scenery, you will be able to see the corn farmlands, the potatoes, the incredible quinoa and much more, which are farming on the Inca terraces. We’ll arrive at Urubamba town around 13:00 pm for our lunch. You will have an amazing selection of fresh dishes, served buffet-style. Afterwards we will drive for 30 minutes more to get the last Inca ruins known as Ollantaytambo.

Ollantaytambo Inca archaeological site was built with pink granite rocks where you can see the second biggest rock from the Inca’s time. This living Incan town displays narrow walkways, lined with water channels.

Afterwards, You´ll board the train from Ollantaytambo station to Aguas Calientes town, which is 1hour and 45 minutes journey. When you will be arriving in Aguas Calientes town you will be taken by your tour guide who will drop you off at your accommodation. At Aguas Calientes town you will have free time to do whatever you want to do for the nightlife. And also you can have dinner at any places there are so many choices. You’ll send the night in a nice hotel in Aguas Calientes Town.

DAY 3: MACHU PICCHU AND BACK TO CUSCO

Today starts your magical day to explore Machu Picchu. We’ll wake up and have breakfast early in the morning, after breakfast, we take a bus up for 30 minutes to Machu Picchu to get into it to see the lost city of the Incas almost with no so mamy people. Once in you have time for pictures, time to enjoy the views.

Afterwards, your private Guide will give you the guided tour for 2 ½ hours to get to know everything about Machu Picchu. Then you have free time to explore the magic city of the Incas on your own. If you like you can hike to the sun gate or the Inca bridge.

If you book in advance Huaynapicchu or Machupicchu montaña, you climb one of these mountains. After Machupicchu, you go back to Aguas Calientes to have a delicious lunch in one of the restaurants in town, in the afternoon you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, and from Ollantaytambo we’ll transfer you to Cusco to your hotel.

HOW TO BOOK CITY TOUR, SACRED VALLEY & MACHU PICCHU 3 DAYS TOUR WITH RUNAS EXPEDITONS?

In order to book your Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu 2 days tour with us, we will need a deposit of $200 per person. Once we get your deposit, we will send you a confirmation of your trip and the booking form to fill out. Here is all the detail that you need to send us.

  • Personal information (your full name, exactly as on your passport):
  • Nationality
  • Gender
  • Passport number
  • Date of Birthday (dd / mm / yyyy)

We need copies of Passport of each participants because they are required to get Machu Picchu and train ticket.

 

HOW TO MAKE A DEPOSIT?

We are Unable to accept any bookings without completed booking form and deposit sent to Runas Expeditions. All deposits are $200 per person and are non-refundable.
We accept payments through PayPal and Visa, they do charge 6% so the total per person is $212 and should be sent to runasexpeditions@gmail.com

WHAT ABOUT THE OUTSTANDING BALANCE?

You’ll pay your balance in due in Cusco before your tour. Runas Expeditions is only equipped to accept payments in cash for your balance. Please let Runas Expeditions Knows you plan to pay your balance before your scheduled briefing time.

 

HOW ABOUT THE STUDENT DISCOUNT?

According to Peruvian Law, you have to be under 18 years old at the time of your visit to Machu Piccu 2 days (if you are 18 or over, you need valid student cards). Below is the sample of valid student card

All students from 11 to 17 years old have a discount of $25 USD.

For children from 2 to 11 years old have a discount is $25 USD.

All students have to send a copy of their passport and student card at the time of their booking to get the student discount. Send us a copy at info@runasexpeditions.com

 

MAY I CHANGE DEPARTURE DATE AFTER THE PERMITS HAVE BEEN PURCHASED?

Yes, it is possible. But you have to pay the penalty of 25% of deposit which Peru rail and Machu Picchu office charges us.

 

DO I NEED TO BRING MY ORIGINAL PASSPORT ON THE MACHU PICCHU 2 DAY TOUR?

Yes! You must bring your original passport and it is very important that it should be same passport you sent us to reserve your Machu Picchu ticket. Your passport will be checked at Machu Picchu checkpoint and when you board the train.

 

 UPDATING PASSPORT NUMBERS

If you are renewing your passport, go ahead and email us a copy of your old passport to book your Machu Picchu ticket. If you no longer have your old passport, any government issue ID will be accepted, as long as the name is the same. Once you receive your new passport. Please email us a copy of your new passport ASAP to change the information of your ticket.

 

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE OF MY TRAIN TICKET?

It will depend on the train availability. We usually book the 7:05 pm schedule from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes on day 1 and the return train ticket is at 02:55 pm so you arrive to Cusco at 06:45 pm and you have enough time sleep and do any tour next day.
