Day 1: Machu Picchu Full Day
Your unforgettable Machu Picchu day trip begins early with convenient hotel pickup between 3:20 AM and 5:00 AM. We transfer you directly to the Ollantaytambo train station, prioritizing swift, safe, and seamless travel.
Board the Expedition Train and enjoy a scenic journey through the dramatic Urubamba River canyon. As the train descends nearly 1,000 meters in elevation, you’ll travel from Ollantaytambo (2,800 m) to Aguas Calientes (2,050 m), surrounded by breathtaking Andean landscapes.
Upon arrival, our professional guide greets you and escorts you straight to the shuttle bus, ensuring quick access to the Machu Picchu citadel (2,430 m).
Your 2.5-hour guided tour begins promptly, uncovering the history, architecture, and mysteries of this iconic Inca sanctuary. Learn about the ingenious agricultural terraces and the sacred Intihuatana stone, an astronomical instrument used to mark the winter solstice and guide important Inca rituals.
After the guided visit, enjoy free time to take photos, explore independently, or simply reflect on this ancient wonder. We then coordinate your smooth return to Aguas Calientes, where you may enjoy an optional lunch before boarding the return Expedition Train.
At Ollantaytambo, our private transfer awaits to bring you comfortably back to your Cusco hotel, arriving at approximately 7:30 PM.

Student discounts apply to anyone who has a valid UNIVERSITY STUDENT CARD at the time of the tour or who is 17-years-old or younger. For those using an university student card to receive the discount, we need to see a copy of the card at booking time. HOW TO BOOK MACHU PICCHU 1 DAY TOUR WITH RUNAS EXPEDITONS?
In order to book your Machu Picchu 2 day tour with us, we will need a deposit of $200 per person. Once we get your deposit, we will send you a confirmation of your trip and the booking form to fill out. Here is all the detail that you need to send us.

We need copies of Passport of each participants because they are required to get Machu Picchu and train ticket.
HOW TO MAKE A DEPOSIT?
We are Unable to accept any bookings without completed booking form and deposit sent to Runas Expeditions. All deposits are $200 per person and are non-refundable.
We accept payments through PayPal and Visa, they do charge 6% so the total per person is $212 and should be sent to runasexpeditions@gmail.com

WHAT ABOUT THE OUTSTANDING BALANCE?
You’ll pay your balance in due in Cusco before your tour. Runas Expeditions is only equipped to accept payments in cash for your balance. Please let Runas Expeditions Knows you plan to pay your balance before your scheduled briefing time.
HOW ABOUT THE STUDENT DISCOUNT?
According to Peruvian Law, you have to be under 18 years old at the time of your visit to Machu Piccu 2 days (if you are 18 or over, you need valid student cards). Below is the sample of valid student card
All students from 11 to 17 years old have a discount of $25 USD.
For children from 2 to 11 years old have a discount is $25 USD.
All students have to send a copy of their passport and student card at the time of their booking to get the student discount. Send us a copy at info@runasexpeditions.com
MAY I CHANGE DEPARTURE DATE AFTER THE PERMITS HAVE BEEN PURCHASED?
Yes, it is possible. But you have to pay the penalty of 25% of deposit which Peru rail and Machu Picchu office charges us.
DO I NEED TO BRING MY ORIGINAL PASSPORT ON THE MACHU PICCHU 2 DAY TOUR?
Yes! You must bring your original passport and it is very important that it should be same passport you sent us to reserve your Machu Picchu ticket. Your passport will be checked at Machu Picchu checkpoint and when you board the train.
UPDATING PASSPORT NUMBERS
If you are renewing your passport, go ahead and email us a copy of your old passport to book your Machu Picchu ticket. If you no longer have your old passport, any government issue ID will be accepted, as long as the name is the same. Once you receive your new passport. Please email us a copy of your new passport ASAP to change the information of your ticket.
WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE OF MY TRAIN TICKET?
It will depend on the train availability. We usually book the 12:55 pm schedule from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes on day 1 and the return train ticket is at 02:55 pm so you arrive to Cusco at 06:30 pm and you have enough time sleep and do any tour next day.
CAN I STAY IN THE SACRED VALLEY FOR MY MACHU PICCHU 2 DAYS TOUR?
Yes, you can stay in Urubamba or Ollantaytambo. by staying in the Sacred Valley, your pickup will be 1 hour and half after the cusco pick up time so you can rest more.
