Food
Every trek tours includes a culinary buffet; we work with local restaurants in order to support the local community, they work with all biosafety protocols. You will enjoy full breakfast, lunch all served hot and tasty. The key to feeling good on a trek like this is eating well and staying hydrated.
Meals are all served family style – large plates for everyone to take what they like. And all food restrictions are honored. No matter if you are vegetarian or gluten free, you will always be well fed.
Humantay Tour Full Day

- Maximun Elevation: 4,200 m / 13,790 ft.
- Weather: From Abril to October dry season, from November to March wet season.
- Departure Dates: Every Day.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Hikers should be reasonably fit, and spend some time in Cusco to acclimate, we recommed at least 2 days in Cusco or some similiar elevation.
Itinerary Humantay Tour Full Day
We pick you up from your hotel at 4:00am with our private transportation, then transportation journey will be 2 and half hours to get Mollepata village (2900m or 9500ft). In Mollepata village will stop for a delicious breakfast and you can purchase something else for your adventure. Then we continue 1 more hour of driving to get the starting point of the trek called Soraypampa (3900m / 12795ft). During the journey, you’ll be able to observe the beautiful landscape, and cultural aspects of this region. If it is a good weather we will have a fantastic view of two big mountains, called Humantay (5,900 meters /19,356 ft) and Salkantay (6,200 meters /20,390 ft elevation).
In soraypampa you’re your guide will give important information about the Schedule, also your guide will take the first official group photo.
Once we finish our introduce time, we’ll start hiking up for 2 hours until reach Humantay lake 4300 meters/ 14107Ft.
During the hike, you will explore the Andes with alpine views, the entire time you will be in gradual uphill hiking along the Humantay valley, reaching the highest point: humantay lake (4300 meters/ 14107Ft), where you will enjoy a huge sense of accomplishment and unparalleled views of the lake with its turquoise-blue water and of the stunning glacier in front of you (Humantay Mountain 5,900 meters /19,356 ft). You will have plenty of time to look around and take photos of the landscape, also you will be exploring the lake and getting the information from your guide.
At Humantay lake your tour guide will offer coca tea to celebrate our amazing adventure.
After this awesome moment we will return and taking with us unforgettable memories. We’ll descend the same way to the starting point of trek for about 1-hour downhill that means from 4300m down to 3900m.
At Soraypampa we will enjoy our delicious lunch with stunning views of the mountains. After lunch we will say good bye to our chef and porter.Then we’ll drive back to Cusco for 3 ½ hours with our private minivan.
Our transportation will take you back to your Hotel and you will bid farewell to your guide. Arrival time back to Cusco is at 6:30pm.

CONSIDERATIONS:
Don’t forget you are hiking (above 3,800 m / 12,200 ft, 4,200 m / 13,790 ft), make sure you are fully prepared. this trek is challenging and very rewarding at the same time. you should be in shape and healthy. We really recommend you to spend at least two to three days in Cusco or in other places with the same elevation to acclimatize and drink plenty of fluid before starting the hike.

Booking with Runas Expeditions
If you are doing alternative treks or any others tours to Machu Picchu , you should book three months in advance, before doing any tours in Peru.

We accept payments through PayPal and Western Union, Paypal does charge 6% so the total per person is $106 and should be sent to runasexpeditions@gmail.com. We will email you your booking invoice and confirmation once your details and deposit are received."

Please do not forget to email us the tracking code (MTCN) so that we can pick up the money and proceed with your reservation. Also, keep in mind that Western Union has its own transfer fees.
